Craigs Cars Whilst Travelling

Hi my name is Craig Conroy & I'm currently in Argentina travelling with my wife Gale, I decided to start taking pictures of the VW cars in Africa that I was coming across, as I wanted to purchase a VW Bay Screen Bus to drive around in, but as I discovered they were so heavily used, I was flogging a dead horse and gave up on the idea. I need to tell you about the VW Thing open top!!!! well the African owner decided to put a front wheel drive Toyota engine and chassis in the back of it. Not only did he put the engine in off centre, he badly welded a frame around the engine, It was so bad that it would drive down the road side-ways and if the car went over a speed bump the whole thing would break off!! So I politely expressed my concerns to him about this abortion he had manifested and said this is a dangerous vehicle to drive. He then told me he wanted to rent the car to tourists!! AAAHHHHHHHHH what was he thinking.
I carried on taking pictures of the classic cars I was finding on my travels through Africa then South Africa. Wow do those guys like classics! In Cape Town we visited the Heidelberg Motor Museum in Franschhoek, here is a link for some info regarding the museum
http://motoring.iafrica.com/classic/123110.html
this was a great treat they had a good history behind the museum and the cars are Top Draw, some real special cars here. Then into Argentina where many classics are driven as daily drivers. The weather in Argentina is fairly dry so most cars survive quite well. All these cars was driving me crazy, I wanted to ship them all home.We have been through Kenya to Tanzania then down to South Africa, then travelling to cities & towns through Argentina. We came to a sleepy town 3/4 way up Argentina when I found the real early cars 30s i think and a disused railway station. I put this in the blog as I will send the whole thing to car & train magazines, not being a big train fan myself, I found this experience quite humble. It was like being a child again, we had come across a grown ups play ground! it even had a turn stile and a maintenance garage.   I hope this gets to a few people and brings you some fun like it has me. All the best Craig x
(sorry about the pictures being a bit jumbled but the computer kept crashing and
when I started again it put the pictures in different order)
